This item is in production and has a lead time of 14 - 16weeks. What this means.

We sell some items quoting "made to order" or item is "in production and has a lead time"... this means that the items in question have not yet been made but are in current production schedules.

The lead times quoted on our listings are based on our experience of production capacity and shipping times to the UK. Unfortunately delays can sometimes occur and lead times should be judged as approximate.

There may be delays in shipping and dockside customs clearance as well as other factors beyond our control. Rest assured, your order is important to us and we will try to make your wait as short as possible. We are always trying to shorten lead times but sometimes factors beyond our control make this difficult.

Please note that there may be a period following purchase when nothing seems to be happening. Please do not worry, your order is in the system and will not get lost, we will be working hard in the background to ensure the best possible delivery times.

The factory employs over 600 people and produces around 100 containers per month, we have approx 180,000 square feet of warehouse and factory. For our production only plantation wood from the state owned wood company is used. All wood is kiln dried prior to production.

Customer satisfaction is achieved through a combination of highly skilled employees and the application of modern technology. The human resources in our company are those who are not only expert in their respective fields, but also self-motivated and creative. Our furniture is made using solid mahogany wood, this includes the insides as well as the drawers. It is handcrafted to any design by talented carpenters and then finished using Nitrocellulose Lacquer.

Our furniture products are all made from solid mahogany and teak wood which has been purchased from Perum Perhutani, this has been certified by the Indonesian Government to be plantation grown. The wood is selected for consistency of colour within so each piece of furniture is free of voids or major discoloration, the wood is then kiln dried down to approximately 15% moisture content.

Our finishing process uses Nitrocellulose Lacquer / NC Finish and White Wash hand painted finish. Some of our our wood stain colours are Black, Salak Brown, Walnut, Red Mahogany, Light Oak, Medium Oak, Dark Oak, Tea Brown, Pecan, White, Cream, Cream Antique, Antique White.

                                 Product Ordering Terms 


We accept a 50% deposit on placement of order, with the balance due just prior to delivery. Please note that delivery cannot be arranged until all balances are paid in full (cheques will require a full 10 working days to clear on receipt).

Payment can be made by Credit / Debit card or Cheques in £ Sterling. We accept Visa/MasterCard/Switch/Solo/Delta.

 Delivery Period

As each item of furniture is painted by hand to order we will require 14 -16 weeks to complete your order. Bespoke items which are made for customers orders may take longer to manufacture and may take up to 18 - 20 weeks to produce.

We always endeavour to complete your order as quickly as possible but we cannot be held responsible for delays caused by manufacturers or carriers. Kingsmead Furniture Ltd does not accept any liability for any consequential loss caused by delays.

Whilst we make every effort to dispatch the products on time, we do not accept liability for any failure to deliver on the stated date or at the stated time.
 

 Access to your home...........Very very important!

We cannot stress enough the importance of checking the access and approaches for delivery of your furniture. Please inform us when placing your order if the delivery is to anywhere other than the ground floor and if so there may be added delivery costs. If the delivery company encounters difficulties on sight without prior notice, this could delay your delivery and if additional visits, personnel or specialists machinery are required, this could lead to additional costs being incurred – we do reserve the rights to pass on these additional costs to you.

 Furniture Cancellations & Refunds

As most of our furniture is made-to-order refunds or exchanges can only be made if the piece is deemed to be faulty. We can only handle and concur your claims, once we receive the piece back.

Failure to deliver by the specified time, is not permissible grounds for cancellation without penalty. Our cancellation penalty is 50% of the total price quoted on your order confirmation/invoice.
 
  1. Cancellation of furniture orders can only be accepted within 10 days from the date of the order.
    If for any reason you cancel all or part of your order after this period, other than fault on behalf of Kingsmead Furniture Ltd you will be charged 50% of the cancelled item(s). This sum will be payable by you within 10 days of the item(s) becoming available for delivery. We apologise for this charge, but it is necessary to offset our handling/clearance costs.

  3. If the goods do not fit into your property and the order is subsequently cancelled by yourself, then a 50% cancellation fee will be charged (clearance/handling costs). It is your responsibility to ensure that goods will fit into your property. Dimensions of the items of furniture ordered are available on request.
     
  4. Furniture goods are specially ordered and to your specification, consequently once contractual delivery has taken place, refunds or exchanges will only be available if goods are damaged, any damage in transit will be covered by the transport companies own insurance. All items are checked by us prior to dispatch for any defects therefore insurance commences when the item is loaded onto the transport companies van. Any item to be returned must be returned unused and in the condition it was delivered in and returned securely wrapped so as to avoid any damage in transit.
     
  5. Kingsmead Furniture Ltd is continually developing its product range and we reserve the right to amend the specifications of any of our products without notice.

    Products supplied may differ slightly as a consequence of the ongoing development of the furniture and may differ to those advertised on our website or eBay. Unless agreed with you, the products supplied will be of equivalent value, functionality and of a similar appearance.

    Please note that colour variations to the finish of the furniture may occur as a result of your computers monitor settings, the colour of the finish is displayed as accurately as possible but with the different Windows operating systems and the different quality of monitors some variation may occur therefore we cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the product delivered.

    Wood is a natural product and each piece of furniture will have a unique character and appearance and we are not able to accept any liability for any graining differences or small cracks that may appear. It is not unusual for wooden furniture to crack or split as the wood settles; this happens more frequently with waxed furniture and is completely normal and is not considered to be a fault. Wood will also exhibit variations in colour, grain pattern and tone within individual pieces of furniture and between different items of furniture from the same range. This is not a fault but a natural characteristic of the material. Wood will also change colour as it ages. Again this is not a fault but part of the inherent characteristics of the material.

    All dimensions quoted by us are approximate as each piece of furniture is individually hand carved and is unique therefore the sizes quoted may vary from piece to piece. Bespoke furniture is made to your order and therefore ‘personalised’ as recognised by the Distance Selling Regulations. If you need to amend or cancel your order you have the right to do so at any time up to 7 days after you have placed your order. Bespoke furniture products cannot be returned after you have received them unless they are confirmed as defective or damaged in which case they will be taken away by the delivery service and repaired or replaced at our discretion.
     

Please note that your right to return items to us in accordance with these terms and conditions is in addition to any other statutory rights you may have.

 
   Events beyond our control

We shall have no liability to you for any failure to deliver goods you have ordered or any delay in doing so or for any damage or defect to goods delivered that is   caused by any event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control including, without limitation, strikes, lock-outs and other industrial disputes, breakdown of systems or networks, flood, fire, explosion or accident.

   Governing Law

The contract between us shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and the English courts shall have jurisdiction to resolve any disputes between us. When you purchase any item from us you are deemed to have read these terms and conditions and have agreed to them.
